It is important to study our local history for the
following reasons:

1. History is everywhere.
2. Our local community is rich in history. It
contains wealth of details and stories that help
reveal how societal changes impacted the lives
of ordinary people.
3. To appreciate national history, we need to
study our local history.
4. It helps shape who we are as a people.

tearing of cedulas accompanied by the
shouting of “Viva La Independencia by the
revolutionaries
