• Itis defined as ‘meeting or exceeding the requirement
of client/owners.
• In construction industry, quality is used in different ways than
the product industry.

A subjective term for which, each person has his or her own definition.
In technical usage, quality can have two meanings:

1. The characteristics of a product or service that bear on its ability


to satisfy stated or implied needs.
2. A product or service free of deficiencies.

• In the product industry, quality of some product is better than the other, but we can not
say the same on grade of concrete.

• We use certain product in the construction industry such as tiles,


bricks. Quality of these products can be partially related with the
general notation of quality.

• Other aspect in quality has slightly different meaning at various


stages of life cycle of product such as at design stage or construction
stage.

objectives and compliance of the construction industry. It is to ensure
that construction projects are successfully completed and within the
constraints given, such as, specified period and at minimum possible
