Activity 1: Care To Say Something?

A B C

Questions:

1. What have you observed in the movement of arrows in Picture A?

2. How about in Picture B and Picture C?
Activity 2: Word Search Puzzle
Instruction: Find the hidden 6 words and encircle it. You might find the word spelled
across, up and down, or diagonally. The word might also be spelled forward or
backward.

Objectives
At the end of the 45-minute period, the students are
expected to:

A. identify the different types of boundaries;

B. explain the different processes and geological
features that occur along plate boundaries; and
C. illustrate the different types of plate boundaries and
geological features that formed from it.

Essential
• Plate Boundary
- refers to the border between two plates

• There are three types of plate boundaries which are;

Divergent Boundary, Convergent Boundary, and Transform-
fault Boundary.
TYPES OF PLATE
BOUNDARIES
Divergent Boundary
- This occurs when the two plates move
apart creating a zone of tension.
- Undergoes spreading of seafloor process
- Ocean ridges and rift valleys are formed,
along with shallow earthquake activity
Mid-Atlantic Ridge Rio-Grande Rift
TYPES OF PLATE
BOUNDARIES
Convergent Boundary
- This occurs when the two plates come
together and collide.
- Undergoes subduction process.
- Mountain, volcanoes and trenches are
formed, along with earthquake activity
Himalayas Mountains Mariana Trench
TYPES OF PLATE
BOUNDARIES
Transform-Fault Boundary
- This occurs when the two plates are
sliding past each other.
- Leads to earthquake activity
San Andreas Fault
Activity: Short-Report

Instruction: In a group, you are assigned to make a short report

assigned to you among divergent boundary, convergent
boundary, and transform fault boundary. You are given 5
minutes to do the task including the preparation of presenting
the task. And the reporter from each group will be randomly pick
by the teacher.
Activity 1: Fill Me!
Instruction: Complete the table identifying the types of plate boundary, illustrating
the relative motion of the plates, and explaining the geologic features or events that
occurs.

Activity 2: Identify Me!
Instruction: Based on the pictures of column A that you can observed, match the
pictures from column B that best describes among the three diagram from first
column.
