La Liga Filipina
The La Liga Filipina was a secret organization in the house of Doroteo Ongjunco at
Ilaya Street, Tondo, Manila, this organization was founded by Jose Rizal, on July 3,
1892. The organization is open to Filipinos who still loved the country, this organization
is derived from La Solidaridad, and the Propaganda Movement. The main purpose of La
Liga Filipina was to establish the latest group that attempted to actively involve the
people in the reform movement.

La Liga Filipina became inactive during the exile of Jose Rizal on July 6, 1982. The
organization raised funds and defrayed the expenses of deputies advocating reforms for
the country before the Spanish Cortes. La Liga Filipina split into two groups when it
was about to be revealed. The conservatives formed the Cuerpo De Compromisarios
which pledged to continue supporting La Solidaridad while the people led by Bonifacio
devoted themselves to a new and secret society, the Katipunan.
La Liga Filipina's goals were:

*Reunite the Filipino people.

*Fight against the abusive and oppressive Spanish regime together.
*The protection of the Filipino people from all types of violence
and injustice.
*Encourage the growth of business, agriculture, and education
*Research and put reforms into action for the good of the nation.
