Introduction:
Workload:
• Workload refers to the amount of work, either assigned to or expected from, an individual. When
there are too many jobs to do in a limited time, the workload may become overwhelming and the
employee will feel overworked (Burke, 2003).
Turnover intention:
• Turnover intention is the tendency or intention of employees to stop working from their jobs
voluntarily at their own choice (Zeffane, 1994).
• Turnover refers to a kind of behavior which explains the procedures of leaving or replacing
employees in an organization (Currivan, 1999).
• Research Objectives
• To find out the effects of workload over employees turnover intention.
• To examine the relationship between workload and turnover intention.

•  Research Questions
• What are the effects of workload over employee’s turnover intention?
• What is the relationship between workload and turnover intention?
• Research Significance
• The study of the relationship between the workload and intention to leave will give a good
opportunity to the researcher, employees, and organization to gain benefit from this study. As a
result, the employee especially will gain more knowledge about this issue to improve themselves
from this happening again. An employer's goal is optimal efficiency. This can be achieved if the
employees work at their best and add value to the company. The factors that have been identified
in the literature that significantly affect the employee intention to leave the organization are work
stress, workload and work-life balance. Therefore, in achieving the organizational goals set, top
management cannot overlook the impact of work stress, workload and work-life balance among
their employees. The focus of this study is to understand the relationship between workload and
intention to leave the company among employees. Knowledge pertaining the aforementioned
factors can be a guideline for both employee and employer to improve the performance of the
employees and the organization. Thus, this study is hoped to increase the productivity of
employees at workplace.

A number of researchers have supported a positive relationship between Brannon,

workload and the turnover intention. Barry, Kemper

RESEARCH METHODS
• Research Design
• The design of research is the complete strategy which is implemented by the researcher that formulates
answers to the questions of research questions to find out and explain both the objectives and aims of the
study. The research design combines the theoretical, methodological, and ethical considerations relevant to a
particular study. This work will adopt the explanatory research design to investigate the research problem in
the study.
•  Explanatory research design will be applied to acquire information regarding the existing status of the
research problem.
• The study will adopt the quantitative approach to examine and collect the data about workload and the
employee’s turnover intention through questionnaire. This study will be cross sectional.
•  Population
•  The population of this research/study will consist of the faculty members of University of Baluchistan.
• Sample Size
•  The sample of this study will be 50, that will be enough for this research according to central limit theorem
that states that sample size of 30 or more is approximately approaches to normal distribution and the sample
of this study is more than 30 therefore enough to continue for further analysis. Unit of analysis for this
research will be faculty members of University of Baluchistan.
•  Sampling Technique
•  This study will apply the convenience sampling method to draw samples and collect the data or opinions of
the respondents.
• Data Collection Method
• The research will be consist of primary and secondary sources to generate maximum data on the variables of
the study.
• Research Instruments
•  To measure the variables, the questionnaire will be used. The questionnaire will be adapted from
the earlier studies as follows:
