dependent variable
DEPENDENT VARIABLE
is the variable being tested and measured in an experiment,
and is ‘dependent’ on the independent variable
INTERVENING VARIABLE
is a hypothetical variable used to explain causal links
between variables. Intervening variables cannot be observed in
an experimental research.
