• The Indian Aviation Industry is one of the fastest growing aviation industries in the
world.
• India has 454 airports and airstrips of these 16 are designated airports.
• With Brent crude oil prices crossing $100 barrel mark air fares are hiked by the airlines
to meet their costs.
• SWISS is standardizing the baggage regulation for its flights all over the world. For
passengers from India this means a significant increase of free baggage allowance along
with attractive excess baggage rates.
• From being primarily a government-owned industry , the Indian aviation industry is now
dominated by privately owned full-service airlines and low-cost carriers. Private airlines

• Union Civil Aviation Ministry launched the upgraded version of AirSewa 2.0 web
portal and mobile app in New Delhi. The major improvements in upgraded version
of web portal include features such as secure sign-up and log-in with social media,
chatbot for travellers support, improved grievance management including social
media grievances.
• The upgraded version of AirSewa operates through interactive web portal as well as
through mobile app for both Android and iOS platforms. It will offe rpassengers
convenient and hassle-free air travel experience. It will allow flyers to register their
complaints through social media using hashtag (#) AirSewa. It will provide all
required information about flights operating from various airports across country
including real-time flight status and details of flight schedule. It will provide all
facilities and services including assistance to disabled or unaccompanied minor that
are available at airports across India. It will also help capture air travellers’ feedback
for policy interventions

• CARGO
Air Cargo, commonly known as Air Freight, is
used for loading baggage of the passengers. A
cargo aircraft plane (also known as freight
aircraft or freighters) is a fixed-wing aircraft
designed or converted for the carriage of goods,
rather than passengers. They are devoid of
passenger amenities, and generally feature one
or more large doors for the loading and
unloading of cargo
• SLIDE RAFT
• Slide raft is an inflatable slide used to evacuate an aircraft
quickly during emergency landing.
• Slide raft container- parts of the aircraft door/exit that holds
the slide raft in a compressed stat.
• The escape slides a quick evacuation from the aircraft in
case of emergency.
• Cabin inter communication system
• The system controls and displays cabin functions for
passengers and crew. These include cabin lighting,
cockpit/cabin announcements, door status indication,
emergency signals, non –smoking/fasten seat belt signs,
smoke detectors, cabin temperature, etc. The system
consists of a central computer , the director, the director
interface board, one or more flight attendant panels and a
data network for audio transmission in the cabin.
