Is Beyond meat healthier than meat?
A clinical study conducted by Stanford University and published in the American Journal of Clinical Nutrition

Equal amount of protein

Beyond meat, meals, such as burgers offer equal protein
and calories content but contain less saturated fat and no
cholesterol
Prevents diabetes and heart
disease
Saturated and trans-fat-rich diets can raise cholesterol
levels, increasing your risk of chronic diseases, including
type 2 diabetes and heart disease.

Fiber intake can lower the risk of

breast, colon, and other digestive
cancers.
Plant-based meat is not only lucrative, it’s good for
the environment
BEYOND MEAT
• Founded by Ethan Brown with the
stated mission of combating climate
change.
• Passionate about the environment,
Brown pursued a career in clean
energy to help mitigate the effects
of climate change. “But I began to
realize that livestock had a larger
contribution to the climate than
many other things that I was
working on in terms of the
emissions,” he said. That why in
2009 he started working on a more
healthier and humane burger.
The problem: cows cause CO2 emissions
In fact, 3 percent of U.S. greenhouse gas emissions
come from methane emitted from cow digestion.
➡️Eliminating or reducing consumption of products
made from cows is probably the single biggest way
to reduce your impact on planet Earth, not just
greenhouse gases, but global acidification,
eutrophication, land use and water use.
Beyond Meat worked with the University of Michigan to generate a peer-reviewed Life
Cycle Analysis (LCA) comparing the environmental impact of making the Original Beyond
Burger versus everything that goes into making a ¼ lb. U.S. beef burger. The study
concluded that The Beyond Burger uses

99 percent less water

93 percent less land

creates 90 percent requires 46 percent

fewer greenhouse gas less energy
emissions
