To share my incipient moments in life, I would like to base on

Kohlberg’s Theory of Moral Development.

According to Kohlberg’s theory, there are three degrees of moral

development, each of which is divided into two stages. Kohlberg
theorized that people progress through these stages in a
predetermined order, and that moral awareness is linked to
cognitive development. Preconventional, conventional, and
postconventional moral reasoning are the three levels of moral
reasoning.

Stage 1Obedience and Punishment Orientation

Back when I was a little girl, my parents never fails to taught me to be
obedient for it pleases them. Nevertheless, disobedience is an inevitable
behavior especially as a child. I can only count those instances wherein I
was being punished for doing the wrong thing. My parents once said that
I’m not a hard headed child since I’m a good little one but ofc Life’s
consequences has taught me to avoid disobedience to avoid
punishments.

Stage 2 Individualism and Exchange

I’ve reached the point where I’ve begun to adopt the viewpoints taught,
but I’m also aware that there are several points of view on each Scenario.
Each person is unique and, as a result, will have a distinct perspective
based on their interest. I’ve stumbled into experiences that change my
outlook in life and it changed my life. A change of perspective is essential
for Moral Development. I love embracing it.

Stage 3 Good Interpersonal Relationships

Strong interpersonal interactions are one of the most important aspects
of happiness. Relationships, in my opinion, are essential to living a happy
and fulfilled life. They, like anything worthwhile in life, require effort to
establish and maintain. I’m glad that I grow up as a friendly and easy to
get along with kind of person so it’s my forte as well to build good
interpersonal relationships with others. Learning this as I grow up do
challenge me to build a stronger one and I’ve been learning great
characteristics as I learn.

Stage 4 Maintaining the Social Order.

People with the most political, economic, and social resources maintain
societal order. According to political thinker Karl Marx, power in society is
unequally distributed, implying that social order is guided by a small
group of people at the expense of the majority. When the majority of the
population participates voluntarily, social order can be beneficial. When
managed by an authoritarian administration, it is repressive. I find this
stage of Moral Development really challenging.

Stage 5 Social Contract and Individual Rights

When I reach stage five, I start to wonder about society and what
constitutes a good society. I believe that theoretically, looking at other
societies and their values and seeking to apply them to their own to see
if the ideals are applicable to their own is a good idea. At this stage, I
usually believe that society is a “contract” that one joins into to benefit
everyone, while still acknowledging that different societies will have
different ideals. However, I believe there are two aspects on which
everyone should agree: that everyone should have basic rights, such as
liberty and life, and that everyone should have the right to change unfair
laws and improve their community as a whole.

Stage 6 Universal Principles

Kohlberg doubted few people reached this stage and I doubt myself as
well with regards of my principles in life since I don’t have enough
courage to fight for it.
I am certain that I’m still working on with Stage 6.
Honestly, it’s kinda hard to have that enough courage.
Preparation for this stage is a long process. I am not yet
ready to act to defend these beliefs, even if it means
going against the grain of society and risking disfavor
and/or imprisonment. I believe that I’ll get there.
