ROMANS 12:3(ESV)

For by the grace given to me I say to

everyone among you not to think of
himself more highly than he ought to
think, but to think with sober
judgment, each according to the
measure of faith that God has assigned.
FAITH
Before we start, let’s have our recap 
What is faith?
FAI T H
F – Foundation
A – Assurance

MEA
SURE
Of FAITH
When we are born again, we all receive a measure of faith.
ROMANS 12:3 NIV
MEAS
URE
Greek word “metron”
- which means a portion taken
from God’s faith
The more word that you put into
your heart and into your spirit
then that portion that you were
given at your conversion is going
to increase, to grow.
-dr. Jerry savelle
Also remember that:
01 It is imossible to please God without faith

02 The just shall live by faith

03 We walk by faith and not by sight

04 This is the victory that overcommeth the world even our faith
LEVEL OF
FAITH
As we begin to grow in God, we decide what level
of faith we will have.
01
Little
faith
Mark 8:14-21, NIV
Mark 8:14-21 (NIV)
The Yeast of the Pharisees and Herod
14
The disciples had forgotten to bring bread, except for one loaf they had with them in
the boat. 15 “Be careful,” Jesus warned them. “Watch out for the yeast of the
Pharisees and that of Herod.”
16
They discussed this with one another and said, “It is because we have no bread.”
17
Aware of their discussion, Jesus asked them: “Why are you talking about having no
bread? Do you still not see or understand? Are your hearts hardened? 18 Do you have eyes
but fail to see, and ears but fail to hear? And don’t you remember? 19 When I broke the
five loaves for the five thousand, how many basketfuls of pieces did you pick up?”
“Twelve,” they replied.
20
“And when I broke the seven loaves for the four thousand, how many basketfuls of
pieces did you pick up?”
They answered, “Seven.”
21
He said to them, “Do you still not understand?”
02
Great
faith
Matthew 8:10, NIV
Matthew 8:10 (NIV)
When Jesus heard this, he was amazed
10

and said to those following him, “Truly I

tell you, I have not found anyone in Israel
with such great faith.
03
perfect
faith
James 2:21-23, NIV

Faith that is growing exceedingly

James 2:21-23 (NIV)
Was not our father Abraham considered righteous for what
21

he did when he offered his son Isaac on the altar? 22 You see

that his faith and his actions were working together, and
his faith was made complete by what he did. 23 And the
scripture was fulfilled that says, “Abraham believed God, and
it was credited to him as righteousness,” and he was called
God’s friend.
This 3 levels of faith comes by
hearing and hearing the word
of god.
Reme
mber:
We are commanded in Scripture to grow in the
grace and knowledge of our Lord and Savior
Jesus Christ (2 Peter 3:18, NLT). This growth
is spiritual growth, growing in faith.
Measure of faith can be
increased by feeding it on
God’s word and by exercising it
or putting your faith into
practice.

God made it grow for those who are
willing to grow. (1 Corinthians 3:6,7,
NASB)
1 COR 3:6-7 NASB

I planted, Apollos watered, but God was causing the growth. 7 So then neither
the one who plants nor the one who waters is anything, but God who causes the
growth.
God ultimately causes the growth, yet He
expects us to follow His way and seek to
grow, becoming mature followers of Jesus
who can help make disciples of others.
Growing faith requires time
and effort.
