Deep Dive into the World of Deep Learning
What Is Deep Learning?

Deep learning is a type of machine learning and artificial

intelligence (AI) that imitates the way humans gain certain types of
knowledge.

It makes the process of collecting, analyzing and interpreting large

amounts of data faster and easier.
Deep Learning is a Subset of AI
How does Deep Learning Works?

● Each algorithm in the hierarchy applies a nonlinear

transformation to its input.
● It uses the inputs to create a statistical model as output.
● Iterations continue until the output has reached an acceptable
level of accuracy.

Types of Algorithms used in Deep Learning

Various methods can be used to create strong deep learning models, such as

Convolutional Neural Networks (CNNs)

Long Short Term Memory Networks (LSTMs)
Recurrent Neural Networks (RNNs)
Generative Adversarial Networks (GANs)
Radial Basis Function Networks (RBFNs) and so on!

Applications of Deep Learning

Deep learning has become a part of our everyday lives: from search
engines to self-driving cars that demand high computational power.
Let’s have a quick look at some of the use cases of Deep Learning

Benefits Of Deep Learning

● Deep learning can give good results with unstructured or

unlabelled data.
● It is efficient, scalable and allows simultaneous computation
using GPUs.
● Deep learning has boosted the possibility of integration with
other existing technologies, including big data, brain-computer
interface, the Internet of Things (IoT) and drones.
Also a benefit…
Limitations Of Deep Learning

● Deep learning works only with large amounts of data.

● Training it with large and complex data models can be
expensive.
● It also needs extensive hardware to do complex
mathematical calculations.
● Poor quality, incomplete or wrong data can lead to
erroneous or wrong output.
● A 100% accurate result may not be guaranteed using deep
learning.
Conclusion

The extensive deployment of big data, computational power, and

deep neural network architecture has improved the conventional
statistical models to predict optimized knowledge.

Instead of so many used examples in daily life, many users still do

not realize the significance of deep learning applications in
improving their day-to-day life.
