Lithium-Ion

Battery
What is Lithium-Ion Battery?
- is also called as a Li-Ion Battery, commonly
It is the cellphone/smartphone batteries.
- are a family of rechargeable batteries having high energy
density and commonly used in consumer electronics. Unlike
the disposable lithium primary battery, a LIB uses intercalated
lithium compound instead of metallic lithium as its electrode.
Uses of Lithium-Ion Battery
• Emergency Power Backup Or UPS (Uninterruptible Power Supply)
• Dependable Electric And Recreational Vehicle Power
• Reliable And Lightweight Marine Performance
• Solar Power Storage
• Surveillance Or Alarm Systems In Remote Locations
• Personal Freedom With Mobility Equipment
• Portable Power Packs That Eliminate Downtime
Composition of the Lithium-Ion Battery

• These batteries are always made up of four different

components;
• 1. ANODE
• 2. CATHODE
• 3. ELECTROLYTE
• 4. SEPERATOR
Structure of the Lithium-Ion Battery
Applications of the Lithium-Ion Battery

• Lithium-ion batteries seem to be all the rage. That is

mostly because of the varied places that the battery can
be deployed. From a small smartphone battery to large
sophisticated batteries used in electric automobiles,
lithium-ion batteries have found a lot of takers.
Life Service of the Lithium-Ion Battery

• The typical estimated life of a Lithium-Ion battery is about two

to three years or 300 to 500 charge cycles, whichever occurs
first. One charge cycle is a period of use from fully charged, to
fully discharged, and fully recharged again. Use a two to three
year life expectancy for batteries that do not run through
complete charge cycles.
Did Lithium-Ion Battery is Rechargeable? Or
Not?

• Yes its rechargeable,  is a type of rechargeable

battery. Lithium-ion batteries are commonly
used for portable electronics and electric
vehicles and are growing in popularity for
military and aerospace applications.
