Body Organs
• Organ is a part inside the body that carries out a specific function
to keep us alive and they are 78 organs in the human body.
• Body system is the different organs that work together to carry out a
certain function. Example of body systems are:
The Heart
• Heart pumps the blood to all parts of the body. The heart had 4
champers,
• they are left atrium, right atrium, left ventricle and right
ventricle.
• The heart pumps blood through to the lungs to remove CO2 and
pick up fresh O2.
Heartbeat
• A heartbeat is a 2 side pumping action that takes about a
second
• Exercise and sports can makes the heart beat faster.
• The unit of heart beat is beats per minute (BPM)
• Normal heart beat rate for our age is 90 BPM and the normal
heartbeat rate for adults is 70 BPM.
Pulse
• The pulse is the contraction and relaxation of the arteries each time the
heart beat.
• Pulse is caused by the pressure of the blood as the heart pumps it to the rest of
the body.
• You can measure your pulse with the oximeter if you don’t have it you can
count your pulse rate on the side of your neck and around your wrist.
