INTRODUCTION
Massage is the systematic, mechanical
stimulation of the soft tissue of the body by
means of rhythmically applied pressure and
stretching for therapeutic purposes.
PURPOSE OF MASSAGE THERAPY
To prevent injuries
To relieve swelling
To drain any fatigue
To promote flexibility

Swedish Massage Therapy
Swedish massage is the most common type
of massage therapy its main purpose is to
place your body into a wonderful state of
relaxation. It can also be used for pain
management and injury recovery.
TECHNIQUES USED IN SWEDISH
MASSAGE
Effleurage : smooth,gliding strokes to relax soft tissue.
Petrissage : squeezing,rolling,or kneading.
Friction : deep, circular movements to increase blood flow
and down scar tissue.
Tapotement : tapping with cupped hands,fingers,or the hand.

Deep Tissue Massage - This one is ideal for
