ALONG
Meaning: moving in a linear
direction (length) 长度
E.g. : along the path, road, river,
railway track (火车道) , corridor
( 走廊), highway, line , street,
wall, etc
ALONG
ACROSS
Meaning: moving from one side to
the other side.
(over a surface 表面)
(an area which has
length 长度 and width 宽度)
ACROSS

E.g. : across the river, road, table,
field, room, court, etc.
Mary is running across the field
The elephants are walking across the
road
The girl is rowing across the river
THROUGH
Meaning: move in an area which

has length 长度 , width 宽


度 , and height 高度
(surrounded by something)
( 被东西包围)
THROUGH
through the tunnel 地道 , hole,
crowd 人群 , flower bed, jungle,
town, doorway etc.
The cat is climbing through the
window.
The tigers are jumping through the
fire hoop.
