Inovis Components

• Inovis TLE 6.0 has following Components:

Components

 Operation Center Client

Windows based application


Identifies the information on trading partners,
events, documents, applications and communication
providers.

 Mapping Workbench

Creation of events
Translation rules such as Standards information,
Syntax Valid field values, and Application layouts.

 Power.Map

Define translation tables for XML transformations that do


not involve EDI.
Note that the map names in power map cannot have the
same name as a map in mapping workbench.
 TL Services
Includes all translation services.
Use the data defined in the Operations Center Client to
translate inbound and outbound.
Gate way Handles all data transferred between external t
trading partners.

Inbound Translation P.2

Map for an inbound translation is taken as example here .


1. Create an Event by clicking the Event Menu >New Event.

Application Record Creation(Source Side)

• Enter the event name, which is used in OCC event creation.

• Enter the company name.

• For direction choose inbound option.

• Once all the fields are entered , a new screen with 5 different windows will
open as shown before P.1

Since it is an Inbound event , Application record and fields has to be created.

Application Record Creation

• Give the name for the record and choose the requirment designator.

• Insert Before ,Insert After adds the record before or After the chosen record.

• select the record you want to add a field to.

i) A list of existing fields appears in the Fields section for the record you
selected.
ii) Select the field you want to add a new field to before or after.
iii) Right-click and select New a specific dialog box will open, depending
upon whether
you are adding a field, field attribute or record attribute
iV) Click Add.

Standards Window (Target Side)

Standard-Element is setup on the document automatically by the Standard


chosen for the map. These elements are in the Standard segments of the
document.

Including Standard Segments

On the target side segments that are mandatory are always included. In inbound
translation it is always recommended to include all the segments .
These are the following modification once can do in Standard side.
• Update Properties.
• Move Left to remove a segment from a loop.
• Move Right to include a segment in a loop.
• Show Included segments in the transaction set.
• Show All segments whether included or excluded from the transaction set.
• Add, update, or delete Syntax.
• Syntax option allows you to add conditional relations between elements in a
segment.

Store Field and Command Editor Window

Store field

In the Store Fields window, user-generated store fields appear without


brackets. store field names that appear in brackets are automatically created by
Workbench. These store fields cannot be deleted.

Command Editor Window

• The items on the Command Editor are described below:


• Commands-Select the command you wish to perform.
• Segment-Select the segment (or record) to which the command will apply.
• Store Field-This is an editable drop down list, meaning that you can type
information in.

Adding Commands

• Add-Adds the command to the selected segment or record.

• Update-Updates a command you have made changes to.

• Delete-Deletes the command line shown in the Commands drop down list box.

• Undo-Returns a command to its last added state, or erases all entries for a
command that has not been added.

• Some commands which are available for outbound won’t be available for
inbound and vice versa.

Command List Window

Command List Window


• The Command List and Command Editor windows work in conjunction with
one another as follows: Command List lets you view the layout of your
commands. Command Editor Lets you add, modify, or delete commands

Exporting Event

Steps to export an event from workbench:

• Close the event in workbench

• Click on “Event” – “Export”

• Select the event and click “Export”

• The event will be exported and following 8 files will be created in wb\xlate
directory

• . rpt, .app, .cnt, .con, .dsc, .evt, .id & .ans

Trading Partner Event Creation

• Trading Partner is the one with whom the business transaction is taking
place.Before you create an event, information about the trading partner
associated with that event must be added to the database. If the trading partner
has not been defined, or you need to modify information about a trading
partner, then use the procedures to perform the following:

• Opening the Trading Partners /Events window


• Adding a trading partner information
• Modifying a trading partner properties
• Deleting a trading partner
• The Trading Partners/Events window is divided into two sections. The left
section displays trading partners; the right section displays events associated
with the selected trading partner.

Opening the Trading Partner window:

• Open the Operations Center Client


• Click the Trading Partner button. The Trading Partners/Events window
opens. Or go to View -> Trading Partners/Events.

Creation of Trading Partner

• Open the Trading Partner window. Click New located in Trading Partner
section. The Trading Partner Properties window opens displaying the
Document tab.
• Provide information in the fields.

Contact Information

1. Click the Translation Contacts tab and select New. The Contact Properties
window opens

Interchange Reference

Click the Interchange Reference tab.

• Click New to add a new interchange reference.The Interchange Reference


window opens.

• Do one of the following:


– Select an existing interchange from the list.
– Click New to create a new interchange.

• Click OK.

Interchange Reference Window

• Select an internal division ID from the drop-down list. This value must match
the internal division ID on the document properties.

• Click OK.The interchange reference you added is displayed in the list.

• To create an event using the Event Wizard:


• Click the Event Wizard button from the Operations Center Client.

Creating Event in OCC

• . The Event Wizard -Trading Partner screen opens. Give the following
details
– Type or select the trading partner name, click Next to advance to the Event
Wizard-Communications Provider window.
– If trading partner not found then Click New and go to Creating a Trading
Partner. Then Go to Communications Provider window.

• On the Event Wizard-Communications Provider window, select a


communications provider from the list.

• On the Event Wizard - Event Details window, provide the event details. The
event details will vary based on the document type (EDI or XML).

Inbound Translation Process

The following is the inbound translation process:

• If the inbound document is in:


– EDI format, the map is defined with the Mapping Workbench.
– If the document is EDI, export the event with the Mapping
Workbench. The export process creates the translation tables
associated with the event.

• Create an inbound event using the Operations Center Client.

• Upload the translation tables to the server using Operations Center


Client.

Inbound Translation Process Conti..

• The Gateway receives the files from a value added network


(VAN) or directly from your trading partner.

• TL Services reads the documents from the gateway mailbox,


determines the appropriate translation table to use, and then routes
the data to the appropriate translator.

• TL Services writes the translated documents into the application


file associated with the event.

• The Application Window Defines the types of records and fields


needed to complete a document layout. It describes what data is
needed and how data should be structured.
