WHAT IS
BULIMIA?
• Bulimia is a disorder of food conduct.
• The person with bulimia moves away from the healthy
forms of nutrition.
• In anxiety attacks overeating in very short periods of
time.
• Seeking to eliminate food through vomiting.
• Psychological health is affected due to the prejudices of
the new society.
CLINICAL PICTURE
• Loss of mental control from overeating.
• Bad habits on the daily routine: People with
bulimia have episodes of fasting.
• Vomiting is a punishment for having eaten in
large quantities.
• Vomiting is also a way to relax because
physical discomfort dissapears.
• Realization of very intense physical exercise.

 Due to the loss of important vitamins of the immune


system.
 This alteration can develop diseases at a progressive level.
 This is caused by the weight loss and sudden changes in
diet.
DEHYDRA
TION
 Lack of water and mineral salts.
 Due to the loss of body water during exercise.
 Isotonic drinks reduce the risk of dehydration.
 The dehydration disappears quickly.

 Food has a direct effect on women's hormonal function.


 Woman with menstrual irregularities might develop a new
disease in a future.
STRESS
 Stress is present in the development of a person's life, this
increases the risk of suffering an eating disorder.
 Due to stress there are low levels of self-esteem on people
with this disease.
 Stress produces loss of hair and fainting.
LIFESTYLE IN
EXCESS

 Ingest an excessive amount of food in less than two hours.


 Training, going to the gym, exercising during a long day
produces physical exhaustion.
 Misuse of saunas, laxatives and slimming pills.

 The electrical impulses that coordinate the beating of the


heart do not work correctly.
 Chest pain, shortness of breath and sweating are some
symptoms.
 Could cause death.
