Giving Advice

ENGLISH DEPARTMENT
Objectives:

• Students use different verbs to give advice to people going on vacations.


Before we start: Imagine that your best frien broke up with his/her girlfriend/ boyfriend.
What advice can you give him/her?

• You need to get distracted: go out with friends, go to the park, etc.

HOW TO GIVE ADVICE
When we give advice to people, we usually use Modal Verbs (Class 3)

For example: Jeff feels bad because he doesn’t have a healthy life.

You can practice a sport. It’s important to have physical activity

You could start eating healthy food.

You must stop consuming junk food.

You should drink a lot of water every day.


HOW TO GIVE ADVICE
Other expressions we usually use to give advice are:

On this conversation you will see examples of people givng advice:
