WHAT IS EDUCATION?

 The process of receiving & giving systematic information.

 Education is delivery of knowledge, skills & information


from teachers to learners.

 Process of becoming an educated person.


WHY EDUCATION IS NECESSARY?

 Education is necessary for progress in life.

 Education removes poverty from society.

 Education tells basic difference between good or bad.

 Education gives us employment and identity.

WHAT ARE EDUCATION SECTORS?

 The education sector is a group of institutions ministries of


education, local educational authorities, teacher training
institutions, schools, universities, etc.

 Whose primary function is to provide education to children and


young people of the society.
EDUCATION IN PAKISTAN

 Education in Pakistan is overseen by Ministry of Education of


government of Pakistan.
 The academic institution are the responsibility of provisional
government.
 Federal government is responsible for curriculum development,
accreditation & some finance research.
 The Higher Education Commission established in 2002 is
responsible for all universities and degree awarding institutes.
 Pakistan produces about 445,000 university graduates and 25,000–
30,000 computer science graduates per year.

CULTURAL ORGANIZATION (UNESCO) RESEARCH

 Pakistan in on 136th position in world -113th out of 120 registered UN members.

 Pakistan’s overall current literacy rate is 62%.

 In Pakistan literacy rate in different provinces are as follows :

 In Pakistan people of different age having the literacy rate as


follows:

 According to the survey of UNICEF, Currently Pakistan has the world’s second highest number
of out-of-school children (OOSC) with an estimated 22.8 million children aged 5-16 not
attending school.
AFFECTS OF COVID-19 ON EDUCATION SECTORS

 The COVID-19 pandemic caused a loss of $2 billion to Pakistan’s


Education sector.

 The latest study on the effects of COVID-19 on the economy has


been conducted by the KPMG, estimated that almost 125 million
people, more than half of the country’s population slip into the
clutches of poverty, which can adversely affect our education
sectors.

RECOMMENDATION

 Create policies to attract, reward, and retain high-quality teachers.


 Eliminate RATTA (cramming) system from our education system.
 All data of schools must be have online access.
 Girls education should be encouraged.
 Updation of Curriculum
 Focus on teacher’s training
