ENTREPRENEUR
 An opportunity finder, assesses situation.
 One who innovates and creates new products.
 One who is driven by a strong desire to be successful and highly motivated to excel.
 One who brings resources, labors, and materials.
 One who introduces changes, innovation, and a new order.
 Need to attain something, to experiment, or to accomplish.
 One who identifies opportunities, plans, mobilizes resources, manages, and assumes the risks of a
business to have a positive impact on society.
 One who finances, organizes, and manages a business.
 A person who can understand and assess business opportunities.
 One who conducts market survey to evaluate feasibility and viability.
 Persistently tries to succeed using his/her efforts.
According to Global Entrepreneurial Monitor (GEM, 2006), more and more Filipinos are
engaged in various types of business activities, whether it is micro, small, or medium business.
 MICRO BUSINESSES – 1-4 employees (ex. Sari sari store, Gasoline Station)
 SMALL BUSINESSES – 5-99 employees (ex. Restaurants, Groceries, Fastfood Chain)
 MEDIUM BUSINESSES – 100-499 employees ( Big Companies, Factories, Hospitals,
Airlines)

Changes in the social, economic, political, and technological environment have also altered
our traditional concept of who is an entrepreneur.
