One who identifies opportunities, plans, mobilizes resources, manages, and assumes the risks of a
business to have a positive impact on society.
One who finances, organizes, and manages a business.
A person who can understand and assess business opportunities.
One who conducts market survey to evaluate feasibility and viability.
Persistently tries to succeed using his/her efforts.
According to Global Entrepreneurial Monitor (GEM, 2006), more and more Filipinos are
engaged in various types of business activities, whether it is micro, small, or medium business.
MICRO BUSINESSES – 1-4 employees (ex. Sari sari store, Gasoline Station)
SMALL BUSINESSES – 5-99 employees (ex. Restaurants, Groceries, Fastfood Chain)
MEDIUM BUSINESSES – 100-499 employees ( Big Companies, Factories, Hospitals,
Airlines)
Changes in the social, economic, political, and technological environment have also altered
our traditional concept of who is an entrepreneur.
