pwd Command:The pwd command is used to display the location of the present working
directory.
Syntax: pwd
mkdir Command:The mkdir command is used to create a new directory under any directory.
Syntax: mkdir <directory name>
Syntax:rmdir <directory name>
Linux File commands
touch Command: The touch command is used to create empty files. We can
create multiple empty files by executing it once.
• Syntax: touch <file name>
touch <file1> <file2> ....
• cat Command: The cat command is used to create a file, display content of the
file, copy the content of one file to another file, and more.
Syntax: cat [OPTION]... [FILE]..
• cat > <file name> // Enter file content
• rm Command:The rm command is used to remove a file.
Syntax:rm <file name>
• This command enables you to observe network traffic at the IP layer, aggregated
on source, destination, higher-layer protocol, and interface
• nslookup:It is a network administration tool for querying the Domain Name
System (DNS) to obtain domain name or IP address mapping or any other
specific DNS record.
• arp:It manipulates the System’s ARP cache. It also allows a complete dump of

• wget:Used to download files from the server even when the user has not logged
on to the system and it can work in background without hindering the current
process
• route:Used when you want to work with the IP/kernel routing table
