INTRODUCTION
Nutrition can affect your skin and your appearance,
sometimes negatively and sometimes positively,
foods rich in antioxidants and healthy fats result in
glowing healthy and hydrated skin while sugary and
empty calories hurt your complexion

NUMBER ONE : PROCESSED


FOODS

Processed foods, like ready meals, should be


avoided as they offer little in terms of
nutrition. As they’re processed, enzymes and
nutrients are broken down and lost – meaning
you’re losing out on all the potential skin
benefits.

NUMBER TWO : DAIRY


PRODUCTS

Dairy products do offer many benefits but too


much dairy can result in problem skin and
acne. Many dairy cows are fed hormones to
double their milk production, which we too
get a dose of when we consume their milk.
Instead, we can consume almond milk or
coconut milk which are vitamin and calcium
enriched.

NUMBER THREE : FRIED


FAST FOOD.
Fried foods are full of the bad fats – oxidized
fats – as opposed to healthy antioxidants.
Fried foods can speed up the ageing of the
skin, slowing down the collagen and elastin
syntheses needed for that healthy glow.

NUMBER FOUR : EXCESS


SUGAR
Too much sugar can lead to acne and
inflammatory skin conditions. It also
increases the bad bacteria in the gut, meaning
more toxins and worse skin. What’s more,
artificial sweeteners aren’t any better either.
As they’re full of sweeteners, they can irritate
skin and cause inflammation.

NUMBER FIVE : SEA FOOD

Although seafood is healthy and lean, it also


contains a lot of iodine, which can lead to
acne if consumed in excess. If you have acne-
prone skin, dermatologist Dr. Neal Schultz
suggests you eat seafood a couple of times a
month and a variety of lean protein into your
diet.

NUMBER SIX : SALTS


Another thing to avoid is consuming excess
salt. foods like frozen meals claim to be
healthy and convenient but they’re packed
with a lot of sodium. We all know that too
much salt can result in bloating and water
retention, but did you know it can also cause
swelling around the eyes? You can avoid that
look by consuming less sodium.
NUMBER SEVEN : STARCHY
FOODS
We all love starchy foods but over eating
them can be a big diet mistake, not just
because they cause weight gain but also the
way it affects the way we look. Eating too
many starchy foods in an attempt to avoid
eating fatty foods can increase androgen
levels, which can cause thinning hair or acne.

NUMBER EIGHT : GOING


FAT FREE
Some people used to believe in the diet
mistake of eating little to no fat in order to
lose weight or stay trim, but now we know
better. Eating too much fat is really bad for
you , but our bodies need fat in order for the
cells in our bodies to properly function.
Choose healthy fats like fatty fish,
unsaturated fats from plants or nuts to get
your fat fix while still maintaining a healthy
diet.

NUMBER NINE : EATING TOO


MUCH OF ONE THING
Another one of the common diet mistakes we can
make is consuming too much of one thing.
Sometimes we might eat too much of one type of
food thinking it’s safe. Healthy foods like nuts,
avocados and olive oil are all healthy but they aren’t
good for you if you had too much of them. The most
important thing is to eat ALL foods in moderation .

important for your mental health , physical
