BUGAAN INTEGRATED SCHOOL: KA-CLEAN-

ISAN PROJECT PROPOSAL

I. Introduction and Rationale
Dirt and grime promote the spread of germs, which can also encourage

the spread of communicable diseases. A clean school is crucial to ensure

that children and teachers don’t get sick. If sickness spreads throughout an

entire school, it can have devastating consequences. The sickness can be

passed not just to people in the school,

but also to other members of the community.

One way to ensure that your school stays clean is to enlist the help of

students. As a teacher, a clean classroom will make learning a much more

pleasant experience for all. Give your students a special task that they

should complete at the end of every learning day.

When it comes down to it, the importance of cleanliness in school is

related to educational success. A clean school ensures a positive and

healthy environment for everyone involved. That’s why the

researcher.
conducts this study to seek the factors that affect the cleanliness of

Bugaan Integrated School. The researchers also aim to show the

awareness of one’s responsibility and to show concern in saving

and protecting the environment by the project proposal about KA-

CLEAN-ISAN (Knowledge About Cleaning while Learning to build

an Effective Attainable Neatness in School and Nature).

II. Literature Review
The first and most important rule of health protection is cleanliness. Cleaning is

defined as the removal of visible contaminants from the environment. With the full

provision of hygiene, individuals are free from pathogenic microorganisms and parasites

and do not infect any infectious disease to others (Kahveci & Demirtaş, 2012).

As a result of the research carried out by Kırım and Hırça (2015), it was concluded

that the dissemination of health education in schools,

science programs and the support of teachers in the development of Public

Health level will contribute to the growth of healthy students and thus to the

formation of a healthy society while on the study of Coşkun and Kara (2015)

determined that the positive behavioral changes of the students after the health

education given to secondary school students were less than the increase in

knowledge levels.
III. Research Questions
This study addresses the factors that affect the cleanliness of Bugaan Integrated School.

Hence, this research is also designed to recommend a project to maintain the cleanliness of the

school.

1. What are the factors that affect the cleanliness of the school?

2. How can cleanliness be improved in school?

3. Based from the findings, what proposed project can be implemented to

maintain the cleanliness of the school?

IV. Scope and Limitation

The researcher will choose 150 selected students among Junior High School

in Bugaan Integrated School. This study will focus only on the cleanliness and

ways of segregation of the chosen students. The result of the study can be a basis

to implement a project proposal for the school.

V. Research Methodology

a. Sampling

Proportionate Sampling Method is a sampling strategy in gathering

participants for a study when the population is composed of several

subgroups that are vastly different in number.

Bugaan Integrated School has a total population of 460 Junior High

School Students; 150 of them will be selected as the respondents of

the study through proportionate sampling method. The set of

respondents are heterogeneous.

b. Data Collection

The data will be gathered through research made survey questionnaire.

Furthermore, the researcher will ask permission to the principal through a letter.

The researcher will give a request letter and survey questionnaires to the

selected 150 respondents. Afterward, the researcher will proceed to the

evaluation of the results.

C. Ethical Issues

A personal consent form will be given to the selected respondents of the

study. They will be informed that as participants, they are willing to cooperate

and answer the survey questionnaires.

d. Plan for Data Analysis

The data will be gathered and tallied to be calculated:

Frequency Count and Percentage. To determine the frequency

percentage of the factors that affects the cleanliness of the school.

Mean. To identify the factors that affects the cleanliness of the school.
