The problem 1.Lack of clear and “easy" cleaning and sanitizing


procedures to avoid microbiological contamination.
2. Lack of knowledge about BF

3. Tough listeria m. regulation (negative/25 gr sample)

Cleaning Trial-Jacuzzi Vegetables

Target: Remove Biofilm with TENSIO CIP and BIO CIP by circulation
pipes after finding positive Biofilm with BIOFINDER

Cleaning protocol
Normal cleaning was conducted with our regular products. The cleaning product was
circulated 15 min more to try to remove the Biofilm.

The Jacuzzi was filled with water 50-53 C. Approval from the Jacuzzi's supplier was
got before to allow use of high temp (pumps sensitivity).

TENSIO CIP and BIO CIP were added manually 0.25% and 0.05% Respectively

4. Circulation for 35 min. End temp 45 C.

5. During circulation were added to the Jacuzzi, external instruments


that were “BIOFINDER POSSITIVE” but could not be cleaned by
normal procedure
6. Rinsing with potable water.

7. Sanitizing with 150 PPM Chlorine by circulation for 10 min

detecting with BIOFINDER
Results -Conclusions

Shelf life of product increase from 9 to 12 days


1. Biofilm was removed from Jacuzzi sensitive-positive-parts including
external ones by the TENSIO CIP and BIO CIP.

2. There is need to supply HOT water in a easy way to allow regular


(weekly BF removing). An equipment investment will be needed.

3. Each equipment / factory will need to create monitoring program


to validate BF frequency removing
Conclusions

4. Factories (food technologist) still do not understand the differences


between “regular dirtiness” and BF presence!!!!!

5. QAM ( mainly food technologist) tend to blame our chemicals


without understanding BF can not be removed by normal
chemicals !!!!!
