PREAMBLE
Introduction
• Since 2004/05 SRSA focussed on its main mandate
to broaden the participation base of sport and
recreation in SA.
• Commendable successes have been achieved
supported by statistics – especially amongst the
youth.
• It is important to move beyond the mobilization
phase with more emphasis on developing and
nurturing new talent within a holistic development
continuum.
• SRSA needs to build a bridge between mass
participation and high performance that will
eventually also reflect a transformed society.
