What is informational text/f
actual text?
It is nonfiction writing, written with the intention of
informing the reader about a specific topic. It is typically
found in magazines, science or history books,
autobiographies and instruction manuals. They are
written using special text features that allow the reader to
easily find key information and understand the main

this way, literary nonfiction reads journalism, and historical,
scientific, technical, or economic
like fiction and has story elements, accounts, autobiographies,
like character, setting and plot. biographies
EXAMPLE:(biography)
José Rizal, in full José Protasio Rizal Mercado y Alonso
Realonda, (born June 19, 1861, Calamba, Philippines—died
December 30, 1896, Manila), patriot, physician, and man of letters
who was an inspiration to the Philippine nationalist movement. The
son of a prosperous landowner, Rizal was educated in Manila and at
the University of Madrid. A brilliant medical student, he soon
committed himself to the reform of Spanish rule in his home country,
though he never advocated Philippine independence. Most of his
writing was done in Europe, where he resided between 1882 and
1892.

Add leg quarters to pan, skin-side down.        Brown
chicken, turning once, 8 to 10 minutes per side.

Expository text
This type is not organized news articles,
around a story‑like structure but informational books,
is instead organized based on the instruction manuals,
purposes and goals of the author or textbooks
or by content.
EXAMPLE: (News Article)
Tuguegarao West Central School moves with SDO Tuguegarao as it
launches Project ANTERAN (Accessible, Necessary and Timely
Educational Resources Anchored with the New Normal) on September 21,
2020, showcasing the readiness of the schools in delivering education in
this new normal.
As TWCS cope with this crisis, it is called to renew a sense of
responsibility with a better understanding and a sense of urgency of the
need to bridge the gap in opportunities and assuring that all children
have the same chances for a quality education, under any circumstances.
Argument/
pconvinces,
ersuasmotivates,
ion or moves debates,
readers toward a certain point of argumentative essays,
view, or opinion. The act of trying advertisements
to persuade automatically implies
more than one opinion on the
subject can be argued.
EXAMPLE: (argumentative or opinion)
As online learning becomes more common and more and more
resources are converted to digital form, some people have suggested
that public libraries should be shut down and, in their place,
everyone should be given an iPad with an e-reader subscription.
Proponents of this idea state that it will save local cities and towns
money because libraries are expensive to maintain. They also believe
it will encourage more people to read because they won’t have to
travel to a library to get a book; they can simply click on what they
want to read and read it from wherever they are. They could also
access more materials because libraries won’t have to buy physical
copies of books; they can simply rent out as many digital copies as
they need.
