CAPCITY BUILDING
Introductory Lecture
Omega Semester 2020/2021

Dr. Lanre Amodu

What is Personal Development?
Personal development is a
lifelong process of identifying
where we are compared to where
we need to be and doing what it
takes to bridge the gap.
• Want — have a desire to possess or do
(something); wish for.
• Need — require (something) because it
is essential or very important rather
than just desirable.
Capacity Building
A commitment to the continuous
expansion of one’s ability and skills for
the purpose of destiny actualization.

matters compared to what lies within us.” -

nothing more, nothing less.

fellow man; true nobility is being superior to your
former self.” ―Ernest Hemingway
