Subject: Failure to fulfil a soccer fixture

This report will dwell on the reasons why our boys’ soccer team failed to fulfil a fixture
against John Cowie Primary School of Rusape on the 19th of November 2 022.

We departed from the town house in Harare at exactly 0700hours. Everyone including
the driver were on time. When we got to Ruwa the driver discovered that he had
forgotten the spare wheel in the garage at school. W e had to drive back to school. By
this time the road back into town was heavily congested. It took us close to two hours to
get back to the school.

The driver quickly collected the wheel and within a few minutes we were back on the
road to Rusape. It was already 0930hours.

By 1030 hours we were already in Marondera where we took a short break for
refreshments. After 30 minutes we proceeded to Rusape.
At Macheke almost all the players started complaining of severe stomach pains. We
had to rush to the nearby Macheke Primary School to ask for ablution facilities. The
situation deteriorated with some players lying on the ground writhing in pain.

We quickly made the decision to rush back to the nearby Marondera Hospital for
help. Staff there attended to all the players timeously. It was confirmed that the food
that they had taken was stale.

By the time the last student was attended to it was already 1600hours. We had no
option but to drive back to Harare without kicking a ball. I would like to sincerely
apologize for the inconvenience caused to our friends at John Cowie Primary School
in Rusape our failure to make it for the scheduled match.
