STEM Lab Safety Rules

Learn these rules. You will tested on them.


Rule 1:

Keep your work area clean and free of


trash and litter.
Rule 2:

Never attempt to change the files or settings


on your school computer.
Rule 3:

Never try to lift or move your computer or


monitor.
Rule 4:

Never attempt to fix or repair the


computer yourself, ask the facilitator for
help.
Rule 5:

Never run or engage in horse-play in the


STEM lab.
Rule 6:

Keep aisles and walkways clear of book


bags and other personal objects.
(Place them in the back
of the class room.)
Rule 7:

Be sure to periodically save your file or


project in case of a power failure.
Rule 8:

Never give out personal information to


anyone on the Internet.
Rule 9:

Beware of loose cables when walking or


moving chairs.
Rule 10:

Do not connect any outside objects


(peripherals) to the computer without
permission.
Rule 11:

Sit up straight and maintain good posture


while working at a computer.
Rule 12:

You should periodically look away from


the computer screen when working on
a long document or project.
Rule 13:

Keep food and drinks away from


keyboards and computers.
Rule 14:

Use caution when doing projects with


scissors.
Rule 15:

If you have a cold, wash your hands


before and after using the computer.
Rule 16:

Do not engage in cyber bullying. Pause


before you post.
Rule 17:

Do not open email attachments from


people you don’t know.
