ONLINE VS. FACE TO FACE:
“A COMPARISON OF STUDENT EXPERIENCES AND
RAMDOM ACTIVITIES OF RADTECH STUDENTS IN
UNIVERSIDAD DE ZAMBOANGA”
STATEMENT OF THE PROBLEM
This study examine the issues of student perception toward online learning and face-
to-face learning in the context of social presence, social interaction, and satisfaction of
radtech students in Universidad De Zamboanga.
The comparison of the online group and the face-to-face group conducted to explore
student-learning perceptions regardless of the course delivery method and the online
environment. The result of this study indicate that face-to-face learning perception was
higher than online learning in term of social presence, social interaction, and satisfaction.
However, there is no statistically significant difference in learning preference found
among level of student. Meanwhile, some students were very comfortable in online
learning since it led them to the chance to being innovative by using computer
technology.

WHY DO YOU PREFER FACE TO FACE CLASS AGREE AGREEE

I can understand lessons quickly because i can interact with

my teachers and classmates

It is easier and more structured and it is less difficult to be

distracted.
I have both the interaction with other students as well as the
teacher
Seems to be more student to student involvement. Online
assignments are just too confusing and instructors expect
you to know everything without teaching it to you.
I like to enteract with other people in the class

Because I prefer to have contact with the professor and

other students
More interation between the other students and teacher to
understand the course
Sometimes the teachers have valuable input I can learn
from, depending on the subject.

WHY DO YOU PREFER FACE TO FACE CLASS AGREE AGREEE

I like the group setting it feels more like school I like the
social setting
keeps me motivited. I need to go to school enviornment to
work well.
I tend to procrastinate more with online classes

I can receive the support from my professor necessary to

succeed in the class. If I could do it on
my own, I wouldn't take the class in a first place.
I am an oral lerner. So having classes where I can hear
the lecture is better for me.
I am able to get immediate feedback and it is more of a
constant learning experience.

WHY DO YOU PREFER ONLINE CLASS AGREE AGREEE

I am able to easily access the Internet as needed

for my studies.
I am comfortable communicating electronically

I am willing to actively communicate with my

classmates and instructors electronically
I feel that my background and experience will
be beneficial to my studies.
I am comfortable with written communication

I believe looking back on what I have learned in a course will

help me to remember it better
In my studies, I am self-disciplined and find it easy to set
aside reading and homework time.
I am able to manage my study time effectively and easily
complete assignments on time.
As a student, I enjoy working independently

WHY DO YOU PREFER ONLINE CLASS AGREE AGREEE

As a student, I enjoy working with other

students in groups.

I like a lot of interaction with my instructors

and/or teaching assistants.

I can discuss with other students during Internet

activities outside of class.

I possess sufficient computer keyboarding skills

for doing online work.
I feel comfortable composing text on a
computer in an online learning environment.

I can ask my teacher questions and receive a quick

response during Internet activities outside
of class.

ACTIVITY 3.

DIRECTIONS: To help you formulate the INTRODUCTION of your study, exhaustively

the following:

PROPOSED STUDY:
 Online versus face to face classes, A comparison of student experiences and
activities.
1.What is the rationale of your chosen problem?

 To all student who experience face to face and online classes with there
different activities. The different problem includes the internet connection,
lack of instant communications, time management, not receiving clear
instruction from teachers or expectations in during virtual meeting. While
the face to face class is having a difficult of time managing, exams stress,
commuting/traffic, conflict schedules in other subjects (irregular students)
and difficult to communicate in there instructors/classmates if they have
any concerns in activities or academics.
2.Describe the settings where your study conducted.
 Online and through papers questionners

3.What are the terms of variables (Concepts) that need to be

defined, clarrified or describe to you and your reader?
 Our concepts would be qualitative variables.

4.Look for the literature/ studies that define the main concepts or
your research. (collect at least three referrences per concepts)
Write down the definitions.

 Online: Students typically have quiet a bit of flexibity in
determing where and what time/day they want to participate in
class. It is up to the students to set their own pace for much of
the work that needs to be completed in an online course. Online
learning can be conducted in any environment, students who
don’t have access to technology, lack of intenet access.

 Face to Face: Class meeting occur at a specific time in a

specific locations according to a set schedule. When in class,
the instructor typically set the pace. It usually take the place in a
classroom.
