The Ride Control Function

Boom Ride Control:

The boom suspension system is a load depending system. The accumulators
are loader to the actual load in the bucket by pressure sensors compare the
pressure in boom cylinder and accumulator. Due to the accumulator is de-
charged when lowering. The first step will be to charge the accumulators from
the pump by actuating solenoid valve CT30 that is piloting valve CT29 to open
the flow from the pump. The same pressure is also sensed to the pump by
shuttle valves and can be tested in port TP10 (this is the boom load pressure).
To get ride control the solenoid valve CT31 has to be activated and drain the
pilot pressure that is keeping the poppet valves closed. The pressure that keep
them closed is the highest pressure in accumulator or the boom cylinder ports.
Poppet CT33 has a spring that helps it to stay open for refilling during ride. (see
animation)

The Bucket Float function

Bucket float:
The shuttle valve CT24 provide the poppet
valves with load pressure through orifice
CT25 either from cylinder port A or B. This
pressure will close the poppet valves, this
pressure may be tested in port TP7 (the
actual load in the bucket cylinder. By
activating solenoid valve CT23 this pressure
will be unloaded to tank and the poppet
valves will open cylinder port A and B to the
tank with back pressure T(CT1). For refilling
the check valve CT28. is installed

Bucket function:
The main spool CT2 is controlling the flow
and direction of the function. CT3 is the load
holding function, it is piloted open when
lowering by the CT4. CT5,CT6 and CT7 are
the port reliefs with anti cavitation function.
The tank port T has a backpressure valve
CT1 to support refilling prevent cavitation.
CT20 is the last shuttle valve in the LS line

Boom function:
The main spool CT9 is controlling the flow
and direction of the function. CT11 and CT15
are the load holding functions. They are
piloted open when lowering or lifting by the
CT12 and CT16. To create float function the
main spool has been activated in float the
sequence valve CT10 will pilot CT12 to open
valve CT11. CT17, Ct18 and CT19 are the
port reliefs with anti cavitation function. The
tank port T has a backpressure valve CT1 to
support refilling prevent cavitation. CT21 and
CT22 are the first shuttle valves in the LS line
