The nations of the world are being classified in various ways. One of which
is trough “Global Divide”, wherein countries are being considered either as
“Global North” or “Global South”
In this lesson we will understand the characteristics of the nation that are
identified as “Global North” or “ Global South” . We will realize that a
nation is not determined by their geographical location but by their socio-
economic status and politcal stability. That a certain country that is
identified as “Third World” may changeto “First World” through the efforts
and perseverance of the citizens themselves.
Objectives:

 1. Synthesize the attributes of the countries considere as Global North or Global


South.
 2. Describe the nations classified as Global North or Global South
 3. Suggest strategies on how the nation may change its classification.
