Tissue Parenchyma

1- nucleus, 2- vacuole, 3- intercellular space, 4- cytoplasm

4
ANOTHER DIAGRAM OF
PARENCHYMA

5
Characteristics:
⊳ It has a prominent nucleus and protoplasm.
⊳ These cells are closely packed or may have small
intercellular space.
⊳ They are made up of thin cell wall made up of
cellulose
⊳ They can also be oval, polygonal, elongated and round

Tissue Sclerenchyma

3.

1- vacuole, 2- lignin,8 3- cell wall

Characteristics:

➢ They are long and tapered at the end.

➢ They are the longest cells found in higher
plants.
➢ They are often found in groups or clumps or
patches.
➢ They are often dead at maturity and lack a
nucleus and cytoplasm.

3.
Cardiac Muscle
12
Characteristics:
➢ Cardiac muscles are specialized muscle cells in the heart that
are slightly striated and have a single nucleus in the centre of
the cell.
➢ It particularly aids in the blood pumping action of the heart.
➢ Cardiac muscles are branched, which is their unique feature.
➢ One feature unique to cardiac muscle is the presence of
intercalated discs. It can be seen that these discs represent the
end-to-end junction of adjacent cardiac muscle cells.

Yeast Budding
15
LABELLED
DIAGRAM

16
Characteristics:

➢ A small bud emerges from the mother

cell,
➢ It enlarges until reaching a certain size
➢ then separates from the mother cell.
➢ A few yeasts reproduce by fission, the
parent cell dividing into two equal cells.

Amoeba Protozoa

membrane
Characteristics:
➢ Proteus inhabits freshwater environments and feeds on
protozoans, algae, rotifers, and even other smaller
amoebae.
➢ They are colorless, but they may have colored
inclusions derived from its food.
➢ A proteus possesses a thick-walled nucleus and
contains a small mass of jelly like cytoplasm.

Amoeba Binary Fission

LABELLED
DIAGRAM
1- Chromatid (half of
chromosome in preparation
of cell division)
2- Contractile Vacuole
3- First Daughter Amoeba
4- Second Daughter Amoeba

24
Characteristics:
➢ Each amoeba contains a small mass of jelly like
cytoplasm, which is differentiated into a thin outer
plasma membrane
➢ It divides by binary or multiple fission
➢ the cell divides into two equal-sized daughter cells.
In this method, two similar individuals are produced
from a single parent cell.

7.
Mammal Ovary
27
Characteristics:
➢ The ovaries are small, oval-shaped glands located
on either side of your uterus.
➢ The ovaries are located in shallow depressions,
called ovarian fossa, in the lateral walls of the
pelvic cavity.
➢ The ovaries produce the egg cells, called the ova or
oocytes.

28
8.
Mammal Testes
30
Characteristics:
➢ A tough, white fibrous connective tissue capsule, that
surrounds each testis
➢ It extends inward to form septa that partition the organ
into lobules. There are about 250 lobules in each testis.
➢ Each lobule contains tiny U-shaped tubes called
seminiferous tubules.Sperm are stored and maintained in
the seminiferous tubules for later use in reproduction.
