BSN III - C
CASE SCENARIO
On October 26, 2016, a 16-year-old boy was carried by an ambulance
after he was involved in a bike accident and fell on mountain roads. Upon
admission, he complains severe pain and a visible misalignment of a joint
in his left arm. The doctor ordered an X-ray procedure and discovered that
the client's left arm was dislocated. As an intervention, the doctor pulls
the arm of the patient to guide the bone back to its proper position,
followed by a cast and arm sling. During treatment, the client receives
physical therapy for his fast recovery. However, after several weeks of
therapy, the client's arm is restricted in movement and appears to be
protruding. He decided to go back to his doctor and request for another x-
ray procedure to see how his arm was responding. However, the results
revealed that he had a fractured radial head in his left arm.
Bone grafting and plating was done
for the fractured radial head of the left arm.
