Types of Inferences
Estimation: We estimate the value of a population parameter.

Testing: We formulate a decision about the value of a population

parameter.
Regression: We make predictions or forecasts about the value of a
population parameter.
Sampling Distribution – a probability distribution which the sample statistic
is a random variable.
Standard Deviation – a quantity calculated to indicate the extent of
deviation for a group as a whole.
