A School Improvement Plan (SIP) is a roadmap that

lays down specific interventions that a school, with the help
of the community and other stakeholders, undertakes.

The new SIP requires the following components:

a. Key Performance Indicators

b. School Strategic Directions
c. Key Interventions

Key Performance Indicators are 6-year realistic targets

on access, equity, quality, resilience and well-being,
governance and other unique concerns

School Strategic Directions are priorities that the

schools must focus on to address key and immediate
challenges by harnessing opportunities within the next six
years.

Key Interventions are specific actions that school will

undertake to accomplish identified strategies. These may
be in a form of nationally driven programs and projects,
locally initiated interventions to address unique
conditions, and specific activities designed to address
short-term issues. These shall be converted into output
statements.

Comparing the Parts of the current School Improvement Plan to
the Annex 5 – Planning Worksheet provided in DepEd Orde No. 44,
s. 2015, a few points of similarities may be noted.

replaced with the domains of the Philippine Professional
Standards for School Heads (DepEd Order No. 24, s. 2020) which

The Priority Improvement Areas of the old SIP may be
compared with the Challenges. Instead of citing ENROLLMENT as
a PIA, a statement on what particular challenge in enrollment is
cited. Ex. Guarantee that all school-aged learners are in school.
