Odisha, an eastern Indian state which has a coastline of


485 kilometers (301 mi) along the Bay of Bengal in
Indian Ocean. The region is also known as “Utkala” and
is also mentioned in India's national anthem, "Jana Gana
Mana". The language of Odisha is Odia, which is one of
the Classical Languages of India.

Odisha was known as Kalinga in ancient days. Another


ancient name of this region was Utkal. It is widely
known as the land of Lord Jagannath incarnation of lord
Vishnu. In Sanskrit it is called as “Lord of the World”. It
is also one Dham out of 4 Dham for Hindus.

The Golden Triangle of Odisha consists of three equally


captivating and culturally vibrant destinations which are
all unique in their own way: Bhubaneswar, Puri and
Konark.

Lingaraja Temple

Lingaraj Temple, built in 11th century AD, is


dedicated to Lord Shiva and is considered as
the largest temple of the city Bhubaneswar
(Odisha). It is believed to have been built by
the Somvanshi King Yayati I. It is built in
red stone and is a classic example of Kalinga
style of architecture.

Udayagiri Hills
Udayagiri and Khandagiri Caves, formerly
called Kattaka Caves or Cuttack caves, are
partly natural and partly artificial caves of
archaeological, historical and religious
importance near the city of Bhubaneswar
in Odisha, India.

Shanti Stupa, Dhauligiri - Buddhist Temples
Dhauli or Dhauligiri is a hill located on the banks of
the river Daya, 8 km south of Bhubaneswar in Odisha.
It's known for "Dhauli Santi Stupa", a peace pagoda
monument which witnesses the great Kalinga War
built by Japan Budhha Sangha and Kalinga Nippon
Budhha Sangha

Since King Ashoka adopted the path of


peace and tranquility and resorted to
Buddhism, he laid the foundation of
Dhauligiri Shanti Stupa at a place which is
known for the end of Kalinga War.

Chandrabhaga sunrise point
Formerly Chandrabhaga was considered a
place of natural cure for lepers. Chandrabhaga
beach on the coast of Konark becoming India's
first to get the Blue Flag certification — a tag
given to environment-friendly clean beaches,
equipped with amenities of international
standards for tourists.
Konark Temple

A UNESCO World Heritage site,


Konark Sun Temple is famous for its
unique architecture. Its geometrical
patterns and carved wheels used to
serve as sun dials. One can witness
three images of Sun God at three
directions to catch the rays of the Sun
at dawn, noon and sunset. It is
considered as one of the seven wonders
in the country
