The course contributes toward the achievement of the
following program outcomes after the course:
PLO-04: The ability to identify, formulate, research
literature, and investigate scientific problems.
PLO-05: The ability to acquire, analyze and interpret
data as well as synthesize information to derive valid
conclusions.
PLO-6: An understanding of the impact of space
science in societal and environmental contexts and
knowledge of the need for sustainable development

COURSE LEARNING OUTCOMES (CLOs)

CLO-01: Understanding of the different regions of the atmosphere

and the flow of air within the atmosphere.

CLO-02: Understand the balance of energy and heat in the

atmosphere and how this related to climate.

CLO-03: Be able to explain the concepts of radiative forcing,

climate sensitivity and climate feedback, be able to give examples
of different feedbacks and be able to quantitatively understand the
impacts.

CLO-04: Understand the chemistry of ozone in the troposphere

through the chemical cycling of Ox, HOx, ROx and NOx. Be able to
describe the chemistry of ozone in the stratosphere through the
use of various Ox cycles and catalytic loss processes involving
HOx, NOx, ClOx and BrOx.
