INTRODUCTION

Air Pollution is the


contamination of air due to the
presence of substance in the
atmosphere that are harmful to the
health of humans and other living
beings or cause damage to the
climate or to materials.
RESEARCH FINDINGS

• According to the World Health


Organization (WHO),each year air
pollution is responsible for nearly 7 million
deaths around the globe.

• In the United States, the Clean Air Act,


established in 1970, authorizes the U.S.
Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) to
safeguard public health by regulating the
emissions of these harmful air pollutants.

• Air( Prevention & control of Pollution) Union Territories Rules, 1983.
• Environment Protection Act, 1986.
CONTROLLING AIR POLLUTION

• Using public transports.


• Turn off the lights when not in use.
• Recycle and Reuse.
• No to plastic bags.
• Reduction of forest fires and smoking.
• Use of fans instead of Air Conditioner.
• Use filters for chimneys.
• Avoid usage of crackers.
HOW TO PROTECT YOUR HEALTH

• Close your windows


• Use central cooling.
• Avoid certain chores.
• Stay indoors.
• Use a N95 mask.
• Change your air filters.
• Use an air purifier.
