● Accountability and responsibility
The Cons
● Can be stressful
● Lose opportunities due to time constraints
● Reduce the amount of time you can spend
on studying, homework, etc.
● Less personal time
How Do You Balance It All?

● Set Boundaries!
○ Know your limits
○ Stay firm and stubborn
● Plan Ahead
○ Know your school schedule
○ Plan your work around that and everything else you want to participate in
○ Try to plan events as far ahead as possible
● Talk to your school and boss
○ Talking to your boss and feeling confident in that is crucial
○ If you don’t communicate well, the boundaries you set won’t hold
○ Choose a job that will be willing to work with you
○ If a job is a necessity, talk to your school counselor on how to make both work for you
● Choose days and times you know you can manage
○ Weekends are a great option
○ If you choose to work after or before school, make sure you can get to and from on time without complications
