Vikram has recently joined the HR – Talent Acquisition Team for Home Try On (HTO.) It’s been 3
months and he is trying to figure out the ways of excelling at Lenskart. He has come in from a very
challenging work environment and feels that Lenskart would be a welcome change.
During his first month of working, his team (of four) was given a target of recruiting 50 Optoms in
the first month. He was all gung-ho and started using all his prior contacts. He managed to, single
handedly, shortlist 25 candidates (out of which, he managed 10 conversions.) His second month saw
him with 15 conversions on a shortlist of 30. He was extremely excited that he was proving his
worth in the company. His Manager, seeing his capabilities, decided to get his help in recruiting for
the Contact Center as well; since, this was an immediate requirement. As a result, his manager
pulled him out from the HTO recruitment and put him the key in charge for the Contact Center
hiring.
Vikram is used to such challenges; however, he feels that his prior efforts of hiring for HTO would go
waste. He feels that although he has worked in challenging work environments, this is too drastic a
change where his sub-domain and targets have changed over-night. He feels that if he does not nip
it in the bud, it would keep happening and there would be no stability in his role. This, after all, was
the primary reason for him to leave his prior organization. He also feels that recruiting for the new
domain would impact his performance; hence his incentives as he is most comfortable hiring for
HTO.
He schedules a meeting with his CHRO to discuss the issue at hand.

Sukh is a Sales Associate working at a Lenskart store at an upscale mall of South


Mumbai. He is fairly new into the role and has been demonstrating excellent skills
in his new role.
Recently, a very affluent looking customer walked into his store and asked him for a
pair of fancy sun-glasses. Sukh was bowled over by the customer’s demeanor and
his rich, fancy attire; however, was unable to gauge the make of the customer’s
sun-glasses. On the pretext of giving his sunglasses a ‘free cleaning,’ Sukh was
disappointed to figure out that the customer was wearing an inexpensive copy of a
famous brand.
He immediately pitched in for a Vincent Chase (our economical brand) as he
figured that the customer wouldn’t go in for the premium brand, John Jacobs. He
was successful in making the sale and sent back a happy and satisfied customer!

Hailing from Delhi, Peyush completed his schooling from Don Bosco School. For his Graduation he went to
McGill University, Canada for pursuing Bachelors in Engineering in IT, Control and Automation, post which
he pursued his PG from IIM – Bangalore in Entrepreneurship. His career got a start with Microsoft in 2007 as
a Program Manager, almost after a year he left Microsoft and came back to India.

His home coming became a blessing for students in India because of his start up that helped them to locate
necessities around their campus, name of this e-venture was SearchMyCampus – this was the first start-up by
Peyush as a founder. Post this, he also established Valyoo Technologies in 2008 – which deals in online
retailers that sells fashion accessoriess.
Looking at the issues globally people are facing under vision care umbrella, he decided to do something
around it and thus Lenskart got its existence in 2010.

Peyush always wanted to be a successful businessman and he became one at the very young age of 25. Along
with business, he also makes sure to support our society in different ways through Lenskart Vision Fund,
StartUp Saturdays, Lenskart Foundation and different initiatives taken by Lenskart to help the special feel
more special, one of the examples are Roshni through Lenskart.

His deep understanding of human capital, organization development and finance has brought in a
revolutionary transformation in his ventures. Under his dynamic leadership, Lenskart has emerged as the
industry leader in its category and has been instrumental in the success of the company in a fiercely
competitive market.

Recently, he was in news for his debut in the TV world as one of the
Sharks of ‘Shark Tank India’.
