¿What is the Himalaya?

The Himalaya is highest


mountain range on the Earth,
with most than one hundred
peaks that exeed 7000 meters
and nine peaks over 8000 high,
amoung the Mount Everest, that
is the highest mountain in the
Earth from level of the sea. It is
situated in the continent of Asia
and it expend in diferent
countries that are: Bután,
Nepal, China, India and
Pakistan.
Characteristics of the Himalya

 Despite its size, it is one of the geologically


youngest mountain systems in the world.

 The mountain range


is the third largest ice and snow reservoir on the
planet passed only from the Artic and Antarctica.
Ways To Get To The Himalaya

It takes, time and money to climb the Himalaya


 There are three ways .
1. Join some of the agencies that organizated comercial excursión.
2. The second way is more economical and the unusual one among mountaineers
is tu buy, either individualy or collectively.
3. And the last one is to organizated a private excursión.
The Mountains Of The Himalaya

The mountains of the Himalaya are:


 Mount Everest
 K2
 Manaslu
 Makalu
and more mountains.
Mount Everest

 Is the highest mountain on the Surface of the


Earth.
 Its located on the Asian continent in the
Himalaya mountain range, exactly in the
Mahalangur Himal sub mountain range.
 The Mount Everest marks the border between
China and Nepal, is considered the higest border
in the world.
The Mount K2

 Is a mountain lacotated in the Karakorum mountain range, in the


Himalayan System.
 The mount K2 is the secon higest
Mountain in the Earth, after the mount
Everest.
 It is probably the most complicated
mountain to scale.
 The mount K2 is know as the wild mountain, due to the difficulty of
ascending it.
The Mount Mansalu

 It is the eighth highest mouintain in the world and is located in the


Mansiri Himal massif, part of the Himalaya in the central-western
Nepal.
 The Mansalu was ascended the first
time on May 9, 1956 by Thoshio.
Imanishi and Gyalzen Norbu, members
of a Japenese expedition.
The Mount Makalu

 The mount Makalu is the fifth higest mountain in the world located
20 km in the east of the
Everest.
 It is characterized by
an imposingsize and a
perfect piramidal
structure with four
edges.
