• Least Mastered Skill
– How photosynthetic organisms capture light
energy to from sugar molecules.
– How organisms obtain and utilize energy.
 TASK
 Explain how photosynthetic organisms use
light energy to combine carbon dioxide and
water to form energy rich –compounds
 Trace the energy flow from the environment
to the cells.
 Describe how organisms obtain and utilize
energy
Overview
PRODUCERS
ENERGY
• ability to do work
(AUTOTROPHS)
organisms that can make their own
• all living things
food
require energy
• transformed
• cannot be CONSUMERS
recycled (HETEROTROPHS)
consumes autotrophs, other
heterotrophs, or BOTH.

• The learners shall be able to make a poster that shows the
complementary relationship of photosynthesis and cellular
respiration.
Activity No. 1
Instructions: Cut out and
paste activity, arrange the
given cut-out pictures base
on the flow of
photosynthesis
Activity 2 : Name me! Cellular

Assessment Card 1
Every living thing needs energy in order to survive and
grow. All living things get their energy from the foods that
they eat. Plants use sunlight, water, and nutrients to get their
energy. A food chain shows how living things get food and
how energy is passed from one organisms to other
organisms.

Ex. Grass are eaten by grasshopper, snakes eat the

mice. A hawk eats the snake.

respiration puts it back and Photosynthesis releases oxygen into the atmosphere
, and cellular respiration uses that oxygen to release energy from food
