WHAT IS MS POWER POINT?
• MS PowerPoint is a program that is included in the Microsoft Office suite. It is used to make
presentations for personal and professional purposes
• Some basic important points on ms power point:
• It was released on April 20, 1987, and after 3 months of its creation, it was acquired by
Microsoft.
• The first version of this program, when introduced by Microsoft was MS PowerPoint 2.0
(1990).
• It is a presentation-based program that uses graphics, videos, etc. to make a presentation
more interactive and interesting.
• The file extension of a saved Powerpoint presentation is “.ppt”.
• A PowerPoint presentation comprising slides and other features is also known as PPT.
• The program was created in a software company named Forethought, Inc. by Robert
Gaskins and Dennis Austin.
Note:Gradually, with each version, the program was more creative and more interactive. Various
other features were added in PowerPoint which massively increased the requirement and use of
this MS Office program.

• Do not have too many colours  too many fonts and styles
• Follow the 6x7 rule
• No more 6 lines per slide 
• No more 7 words per  line
MAKE IT CLEAR 

• ALL CAPITAL  LETTERS ARE DIFFICULT TO READ


• Upper and lower case letters are easier .
• Italics are difficult to read on  screen 
• Normal or bold fonts are clearer. 
• Underlines may signify hyperlinks
• Use contrassting colors
• Light on dark verses dark on light 
• Use complementary colors

• Then choose “All Programs”
• Next step is to select “MS Office”
• Under MS Office, click on the “MS

SLIDE LAYOUT

• Slide layouts contain formatting, positioning, and


placeholder boxes for all of the content that
appears on a slide. Placeholders are the dotted-
line containers on slide layouts that hold such
content as titles, body text, tables, charts,
SmartArt graphics, pictures, clip art, videos, and
sounds. Slide layouts also contain the colors,
fonts, effects, and the background (collectively
known as the theme) of a slide.
• MS Powerpoint is a utility provided by Microsoft in its Office
package. It is used to create presentations based on slides that
contain texts, images, videos, etc. It is used by professionals as well
as students for their work-related presentations. MS Powerpoint
provides various features like Adding Images, adding videos, sounds,
etc., and work with different formatting styles and fonts.
• INSERT – • Inserting Pictures:

CLIPART, • MS Powerpoint allowas adding pictures from the user’s device or


add pictures from an online source. It also allows the addition of
clipart as per the user’s needs. We can also add Photo Albums,
VIDEO, Shapes, Charts, Tables, etc. from the INSERT tab provided in the
toolbar

• Basically, slide design is a graphical representation of themes, colors, layouts, fonts, and many more. With
the help of designs, we can choose different types of slides themes present in the Microsoft PowerPoint. MS
PowerPoint contains a wide range of themes, colors, layouts, fonts, designs, and many more
• MS PowerPoint has various themes using which background colour and designs or textures can be added to a
slide. This makes the presentation more colourful and attracts the attention of the people looking at it.
• This feature can be added using the “Design” category mentioned on the homepage of MS PowerPoint.
Although there are existing design templates available, in case someone wants to add some new texture or
colour, the option to customise the design is also available. Apart from this, slide designs can also be
downloaded online.
ANIMATIONS

 Add animation and effects to text, pictures, shapes, and objects in your PowerPoint presentation.
You can add an animation to grouped objects, text, and more.
• Press Ctrl and select the objects you want.
• Select Format > Group > Group to group the objects together.
• Select Animations and choose an animation.
