 In the study of bamboo cane, one of the

thousand two hundred species of bamboo is

made worldwide as an alternative to replace

traditional wood, such as oak, laurel, chanul

that are disappearing because the wood

reserves are being depleted by the poor land

use and indiscriminate felling of forests.

Guadua is the most important bamboo genus in America, endemic to this continent
