OBJECTIVE
• To study the effectiveness, efficiency, and overall impact of
proctored exams on a student.

• To analyze the effects of proctored exams on a student’s

performance.

• To find out if proctored exams are inclusive with respect to the

economically backward classes.

6
RESEARCH QUESTIONS
• To what extent do proctored exams impact the ethics of the
student?

• Are proctored exams a successful alternative to offline exams?

• To what extent do proctored exams affect the student’s stress

levels

7
METHODOLOGY
• The questionnaire consisting of 10 questions was developed by framing positive
and negative questions on the attitude towards proctored exams.

• The questionnaire was given to eighteen students who were required to answer it
using the 5-point Likert scale. The items on the scale were: strongly agree, agree,
neutral, disagree, and strongly disagree.

• All the subjects were given the same questionnaire. They were handled by the same
administrator in a confidential environment and were given the same set of
instructions

12
Analysis
• Majority of the students agreed that proctored exams can be afforded by the privileged
classes, as it calls for technological gadgets that may not be as openly available to the
underprivileged students.

• Majority of the sample group also agreed that they constantly found themselves
worrying about the online requirements (steady internet, camera requirements, etc).

• The sample size taken for the study is very small and is not a true representation of the
general population, hence the inference does not conclude the general population’s
attitude towards proctored exams but only the attitude among the research participants.

13
Conclusion
• Proctored tests have undoubtedly benefited the educational system and pupils, but that does not imply
they are without drawbacks. In this case study, the impact has been primarily favorable, and efficiency
has remained constant or even increased as compared to the offline exam.

• The following are some instances where the downsides were clear: Many technological prerequisites
are necessary for a proctored exam, including a reliable internet connection for extended periods of
time and a steady system with a functional camera. If these are missing, the student will be accused of
misconduct. As a result, the pupils had to be concerned about these obligations all the time.
