MEANING
• It is the process of increasing the capabilities
of HR through development.
• It is a process of adding values to individuals,
teams, organization as human system.
• It is the framework for helping employees,
develop their personal and organizational
skills, knowledge and abilities.
OBJECTIVES
1. Develop human resources of the company continuously for
better performance to meet objectives.
2. Provide opportunity for development of different level of
employees.
3. Suitable need based training programs.
4. Prepare newly educated staff to perform their work with
high level of excellence.
5. Promote a culture of creativity, innovation, human
development, respect and dignity.
6. Achieve excellence in every aspect of working life.

1. Identifying training needs and imparting
training.
2. Providing skill input to apprentices and trainees.
3. Competency mapping.
4. Organisational development activities.
5. Conducting sessions and workshops.

• Training – Improve the knowledge, skills and
attitudes of employees for the short- term,
particular to a specific job or task- e.g.,
- Employee orientation.
- Skills and technical training.
- Coaching.
- Counselling.
• Development- Preparing for future
responsibilities, while increasing the
capacity to perform at a current job.
- Management training.
- Supervisor development.
