THE DIFFERENT PARTS

OF RESEARCH PAPER

SUBMITTED BY: NIKKI D. CONSULTA

SUBMITTED TO: LOUIE ANDREW DIEGO
The research shall be organized as follows:

• Title Page
• Acknowledgement
• Dedication
• Abstract
• Table of Contents
• List of Tables
• List of Figures
Title Page

- It is the most important element that defines the research problem.

- It is usually read first and the most read part of the research. It also
contains the least words enough to describe the contents and the
purpose of your research paper. And it can be revised any and many times
as the research develops and reach its final phase.
- It uses the subject matter or topic to be investigated. (“What?”)
The place or locale where the research is to be conducted. (“Where?”)
The population like the respondents’ interviewees. (“Who?”)
The time period of the study during which the data are to be collected.
(“When?”)
Acknowledgement
In a research paper, an
acknowledgement refers to the
section at the beginning of your
thesis formatting where you
show your appreciation for the
people who contributed to your
project. It is up to you to
determine who you are most
grateful to for helping you with
the research.
Dedication

It is the writer's personal

acknowledgment indicating his or
her appreciation and respect for
significant individuals in the
writer's life.
Abstract

It is a short summary of your completed research. It is intended to

describe your work without going into great detail. Abstracts should be
self-contained and concise, explaining your work as briefly and clearly as
possible.
Table of Contents

- This is where you list the chapters and major sections of your
dissertation, along with their page numbers. A clear and well-formatted
contents page is essential as it indicates a quality paper is to follow. The
table of contents belongs between the abstract and the introduction.
List of Tables

Tables have vertical columns and

horizontal rows; figures include all
other graphic representations, e.g.
graphs, pie charts, diagrams, maps,
photographs.
List of Figures

To locate visual information. The

list of figures identifies the titles
and locations of visuals (figures,
drawings, photos, maps) in
administrative or research
documents.

The scope of the study describes the coverage of the study. It identifies the boundaries of
DEFINITION OF the study in terms of subjects, objectives, facilities, area, time frame, and the issues to
which the research is focused. While, the delimitation of the study pertains to the
TERMS boundaries of the research with respect to the major variables. Delimitation is used to
make the study better and more feasible and not just for the interest of the researchers. It
identifies the constraints or weaknesses of the study which are not within the control of
the researchers.

It uses the topic of the study, objectives of the study, issues it will address, time frame,
locale of the study, and characteristics of the participants.

METHODOLOGY
Research Sources of

Research
Similar to building a house, a research design is your guide for you
Design to finish your research.

This may include answering the 5W’s: What? Why? Who? Where?
When?

Knowing how to answer those questions in your topic saves you a
lot of time in thinking about your research as a whole. You need to
have a clear indication what your research is all
about, why you want to do it, who will be your respondents, where
are you going to get the information and when will you get it.
Locale and Population
Sources of
Data Locale - discusses the place or setting of the study. It describes
briefly the place where the study is conducted. Only important
features which have the bearing on the present study are included.

Population is the entire group that you want to draw conclusions

about. A sample is the specific group that you will collect data from.
The size of the sample is always less than the total size of the
population. In research, a population doesn't always refer to people.
Instrumentation and Data Collection
Sources of
Data
Instrumentation is the tool that you need to use so that you can
gather your primary data when you conduct your research. And data
collection is to gather your data from different sources of
information.

Data
Analysis
It summarizes collected data and involves the interpretation of data
gathered through the use of analytical and logical reasoning to
determine patterns, relationships or trends.
Ethical
Considerations
A set of principles that guide your research designs and practices.
These principles include voluntary participation, informed consent,
anonymity, confidentiality, potential for harm, and results
communication.

CHAPTER THREE

FINDINGS AND
DISCUSSIONS
Using thematic analysis,
present data, and interpret.

Thematic analysis has six steps. These are the familiarization with
the data, coding, searching for themes, reviewing themes, defining
and naming themes, and writing up. Using this you can infer your
data or present it. After that, you are now ready to interpret the
data, you will synthesize your tables to a paragraph.
CHAPTER FOUR
SUMMARY, CONCLUSIONS,
RECOMMENDATIONS

The summary of finding serves as a brief restatement of the components of the

research paper. Now, a conclusion contains insights drawn from the findings of each
problem which answer the questions presented at the beginning of the research paper. And
a recommendation is a suggestion that improves the study for the future research to be
conducted in the field.
