5. Leiomyoma - benign (non-cancerous) tumor
derived from smooth muscle
6. Melanoma - tumor of the melanocytic system of
the skin
-pathy (indicates a disease process)
1. Cardiomyopathy: disease process
involving the muscles of the heart.
2. Cardiopathy: disease process involving
the heart.
3. Neuropathy: disease process involving
the nervous system.
4. Osteopathy: disease process involving
the bone.

and rrhexis, are known as the Four R’s. All
four are difficult to pronounce and are
almost always misspelled - ussually with
one r being left out.
