RAFFAELLO SANZIO DA URBINO

Raphael was considered to be the

greatest artist who ever lived more so
than even da Vinci and Michelangelo.
He is known for his mastery of
depicting human emotions and clarity
of form, Raphael produced works that
were the cornerstones of Renaissance
art.
DONATO DI NICCOLÒ DI BETTO
BARDI
Donato di Niccolo di Betto Bardi,
was an Italian Renaissance artist best
known for his sculptures.
Donatello was influential in
popularising the classicizing style
where Renaissance artists looked to
the surviving works of antiquity for
inspiration. The sculptor was
particularly interested in giving his
art a sense of perspective.
SOCIOPOLITICAL ISSUE
Obvious cases include the Protestant Reformation, the Thirty
Years’ War (1618–1648), the confrontation with the Ottoman
Empire, and the development of a transatlantic vs. a Mediterranean
economy, but Renaissance culture as a whole was permeated by
violence, competition, invectives, and vehement debates of all sorts.
The most prevalent societal change during the Renaissance was
the fall of feudalism and the rise of a capitalist market economy.
Increased trade and the labor shortage caused by the Black Death
gave rise to something of a middle class.
